This is nothing they should be bragging about. The U.S. should not be diminishing our commitment to the principle of asylum. The biggest crisis at the border is the humanitarian crisis for thousands of people now fleeing some of the worst violence imaginable. And much of that violence has been exacerbated by U.S. foreign policy in Latin America over the last 50 years.

Still reeling at the stupidity of North Carolina’s GOP! The state’s ENTIRE economy is dependent on its abundance of high ranking colleges/universities and the GOP literally gave the middle finger to roughly 43% of their voters! (not counting university staff). @DukeUSP

Not one tweet about how the government framed a sitting president and stole an election. You're a good, obedient woman, I guess. You probably should be making sandwiches instead.

"Give me your tired, your poor Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free The wretched refuse of your teeming shore Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me I lift my lamp beside the golden door” BIDEN FORGOT ... THE MAJORITY OF U.S. FAMILIES IMMIGRATED TO THIS COUNTRY

The history of the United States is a history of asylum seekers. Only the native Americans, the indigenous population have any real claim to this land. It is time to stop being selfish and realize we are all part of the same world and we need to work together.

If mass asylum immigration is being met by custody/deportation, I hope at least the custody conditions are humane.
