From Florida to Texas to New York, from Arkansas to Iowa to South Carolina, all around this country an authoritarian energy is gathering force and gaining ground. In Florida they are banning books. In Texas they are arresting parents for trying to ensure that others won’t lose their children in mass shootings the way they did. In New York they are arresting peaceful protesters. In Arkansas and Iowa they are gutting child labor laws. In South Carolina 21 legislators signed on to a bill that would execute women who had abortions. My hope is that this is simply a fever that will pass, much like McCarthyism in the 1950s. But we can’t be sure of that. All people of goodwill - on the left and on the right - have a responsibility now. We need to respond to this moment with a rededication to what freedom means, and a willingness to stand strong for it in every way that we can.

It's funny that you have the audacity to criticize authoritarianism when you want to control the energy industry and everyone's wallet by means of discriminatory class warfare.

The democrats are equally responsible!!! OMG…. Just look at the power they took during Covid that was used incorrectly and still no apologies at all, just more gas lighting and doubling down. Yes, “they” want to enslave us ALL, with CBDCs, etc.

You and your party are the authoritarians. You failed to mention your party forced people to take endless experimental jabs just to go to a restaurant, get an education, or keep their job. You are a complete fraud.

Banning sexual content in elementary school libraries is called parenting. It seems you believe the State should have control over our children's development, beyond a preparatory education, and young children should be sexualized before their brain is even half developed, 1/

It's far more insidious than McCarthyism, demonizing more than political identity: targets are education, art and artists, intellectual curiosity. The goal is to scapegoat, erase, and expunge subjective positions, to establish a single, overriding societal ethos, groupthink.

You are so bizarre. Why would anyone have an issue with removing books with porn content from schools? You can still buy them for your own collection, if youre into that type of thing. Thus, they are not banned. So why do you keep saying it? You have now been informed. Stop.

“In Florida they are banning books” What books can you not buy if you live in Florida? List them.
