When I was young, Eugene McCarthy and Bobby Kennedy challenged the sitting president, LBJ. No one thought it was weird for them to do so. In 1980, Teddy Kennedy challenged the sitting president, Jimmy Carter. No one thought it was weird for him to do so. People simply thought that was the democratic process. Because it is. The narrative that there's something *wrong* with challenging an incumbent president - as though there's an unwritten rule that it's a bad idea - is ridiculous. It's part of the "but it has to be this way" illusion by which political elites have trained people to limit our political imaginations for decades. People should run who feel moved to run, and everyone should have a chance to hear their ideas. Three people are running for the Democratic nomination in 2024 and three people should be seen together on a debate stage. *That* is the democratic way.

The level of discourse needs to be elevated in this country. We NEED a good debate on the direction of the United States of America. Will we continue to sleepwalk into endless war, corporate control, shitty pay, rampant healthcare costs, billionaire monopolies, control over speech, the surveillance state, homelessness, skyrocketing housing…or will we look for new solutions? It time to reaffirm the American revolution.

It is literally anti-democratic to argue against this. The party that claimed to "save democracy" is literally circumventing the electoral process to secure a candidate. There's no other way to look at it. To be clear I'm not arguing the Republican party is any better. But call a spade a spade: it is literally AGAINST DEMOCRACY to bypass other candidates that wish to run in the next election.

But the REAL question is, who cares who the Democratic Party nominee is? We should be focusing our attention on dismantling it, not promoting it. It's a corrupt institution that should cease to exist.

If you are a Democrat and you’re saying nothing about this you can never again state that you love democracy. Pretty soon most of you will look up and see that you aren’t even what you thought you were anymore, all because you justified whatever you could to make sure you win.

We have lost functional state democracies in our Republic that are equivalent in territory to the Axis Powers, while @TheDemocrats, @POTUS and his DOJ continue to treat the attacks on our institutions as partisan cannon fodder for their corporate donors.

In 1969, Teddy Kennedy challenged a narrow bridge in Chappaquiddick.
