One of the most powerful things we can do to end the scourge of a mental health crisis is to end poverty. It's impossible to overestimate the role that chronic economic despair plays in pushing people into a state of crisis.

Capitalism requires poverty to properly function. If you don't openly propose to end capitalism or if you honestly believe poverty can end under capitalism, then your cause, as noble as it can be, is already lost.

Yes, ending poverty would be great. But to blame poverty as an excuse to commit a crime is an affront on all poor people.
