One of the most powerful things we can do to end the scourge of a mental health crisis is to end poverty. It's impossible to overestimate the role that chronic economic despair plays in pushing people into a state of crisis.

M4A also helps to end poverty because people can actually afford any healthcare needed and not go into debt in the process, including mental healthcare. Austerity is the root cause.

We need more free market solutions to the problem. We also need to have every state fund multiple mental health institutions to house, lock in and care for their most dangerous and severly mentaly ill.
