Yet the vision thing is tethered to an ability to build coalitions; to inspire confidence among a broader swath beyond 3%, based on prowess, not rhetorical brilliance or even sagacity. Why not run for the House, acquire legislative savvy, broaden experience beyond the niche?

A mechanic knows the car and how it works. Where you travel is not for him to say or know. A politician makes decisions for the people they represent. It's their job to have a sense of their people's desires and work with their knowledge of the system to attain those goals.
