A moral crisis in America is not just poverty but the millions of near poor, those who live their lives with a gnawing realization that they’re just hanging on.
We cut child poverty in half with the Child Tax Credit…but when it came time for the tax credit to expire six months later, our leaders didn’t bother to permanentize it.
America’s poverty rate is the highest of any advanced democracy.
It is the result of soulless economic policies that are eroding our society and riddling it with despair.
It’s not enough to simply want to reduce poverty...
We need to be more than “concerned.”
Let’s be a generation of poverty abolitionists.
