I managed. Worked my way up in positions that provided healthcare. My husband and I both worked. Bought a house. I paid for childcare. I took college courses; that were Pell Grant and paid for out of my own pocket. Pretty normal.
Baby boomer. Worked a variety of positions since high school; went back to work after the births of both children and worked in management until retirement at 65. And by the way, I now work part time again.
