Republicans offer no relief at all, while Democrats are bragging that they achieved a $35/mo cap on insulin for those over 65. Okay, let’s break that down. That would still be $420 a year, and half of America’s seniors live on less than $25,000 a year. There are over 3 million insulin users over age 65, so if you multiply the 3 million by $420 that’s still a sweet profit for the pharmaceutical companies each year. And the situation gets worse. There are another over 5 million Americans needing insulin who are UNDER 65. Many are rationing their insulin, choosing on any given month whether to buy their insulin or pay their rent. This does not happen in countries where there is universal healthcare…which includes every advanced democracy except ours. What kind of “free market”leaves millions of people living their lives imprisoned behind the invisible walls of economic hardship? Millions of Americans have been trained to expect too little, numbed by a chronic, gnawing state of low-grade need to simply accept what they are given. They receive so little, and deserve so much more. #MedicareForAll (Gee, I wonder why the DNC doesn’t want to hold debates...)

republicans / Trump were the first to implement that cap only to have it overturned by Biden. so, republicans did provide relief in this area. please let's not make everything us vs them, leave that to team Biden / team establishment. otherwise, yes. agreed

I'm a Democratic primary voter, here's some free advice, don't attack Democrats in the Democratic party, it's not a good way to gain voters, I mean, what the hell is wrong with people like you and Nina Turner?

Why should the tax payer subsidize poor health decisions? If you overeat for years and become diabetic you need to pay for your own damn insulin.

The politicians in power throw the people crumbs and cheer about their accomplishments. 🙄

I like the @HawleyMO plan. You should look into it and see what tweaks it needs. Most certainly it's not perfect, but DON'T STOP at fixing only the insulin problem and DON'T STOP at the scope of Medicare Only. Fix it nationwide, for all residents.

I have friends on SSI. Tell me, why does the government consider that income when they apply for EBT? This was added by Reagan and needs to be removed. Because of this people are literally getting nothing for help with food. Its appalling.

You are a very fine advocate for the poor Marianne. Perhaps chief administrator of our government is not the best aspiration for you. Maybe you should start a charitable organization. Our executive branch has already run amok.
