Some people think it's naive to think we could organize ourselves as a civilization along lines of compassion and collaboration. What's naive is to think humanity will survive another 100 years on this planet if we don't at least try.

What people seem to not understand, is that ALL people do not come from freedom-loving, compassion-filled cultures. Yes, it would be great. But it isn't feasible. Even if the US succeeded in this, we'd be quickly conquered and consumed by another, more "passion-driven" culture.
