“That is why we need to say with the Prophet: "What doth the Lord require of thee—but to do justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God." That is why the recovery we seek, the recovery we are winning, is more than economic. In it are included justice and love and humility, not for ourselves as individuals alone, but for our Nation. That is the road to peace.” —- Franklin Roosevelt Address Announcing the Second New Deal

Humility is great, but using a fictitious character from a fictitious book to prove a point doesn't lend credibility to your Tweet.

Let’s not use “spiritual lingo” out of context and without definition to bolster political ideas. These words were meant for the INDIVIDUAL not as a political platform of wealth distribution or a battering ram against political enemies.

Please don’t bring religion into this Ms. Williamson. As an atheist, I don’t appreciate any references to “thy God” or “the Lord”, even if it’s FDR’s reference.
