Martin Luther King Junior said “the desegregation of the American South is the political externalization of the goal of the civil rights movement, but the real goal is the establishment of the Beloved Community.” That needs to be our goal too. it’s not enough to understand that the social atomization created by a an economically dog eat dog world is destroying us. We need to understand why it’s destroying us - why an economics that favors a few at the expense of the many is counter to our natural state of being. We are hardwired to love one another, and systems that do not honor that inevitably crumble and fall. We can begin again, and course-correct. We can take the best of modern civilization and marry it to the truth in our hearts - to the imperatives of justice and compassion and our desire for belonging. Then we will achieve the Beloved Community. Then we will repair the world. #ANewBeginning

What would Dr. King say of the apartheid Israel is allowed to put against the Palestinians? How America blindly follows Israel? Where do you stand?

All can be achieved by alleviating all taxes from the people and getting government outta our way to prosperity .

Inevitably crumble and fall? Cool! So we don’t have to do anything… we’ll just wait for that to happen instead and issue pleasing rhetoric. None of that hard, gross political power stuff.

I love this idea but that has to be done from the inside out. You're not going to 'legislate it' from the outside in.

But we aren’t hardwired to love one another. That’s the issue. We are hardwired to love those close and familiar, and to be suspicious with dehumanizingly reduced levels of salience for those of those distant and unfamiliar.
