Contemptible.
BREAKING: The Iowa Senate passed a child labor law before dawn today. The bill lets 14-year-olds work 6-hour night shifts, 15-year-olds work on assembly lines, and 16- and 17-year-olds serve alcohol. The Senate went through the night, and voted on child labor at 4:52 a.m.

I had my first real job at 14, worked everyday after school and on Saturday. I did it by choice, I liked having money to spend.

Is it contemptible when kids want to open lemonade stands, sell their toys, mow lawns, etc? What you do as a kid is what you will remember and inherit as an adult. If you don鈥檛 do anything as a kid, you鈥檒l be a useless grown person mooching from the government.

Yes, it鈥檚 absolutely terrible but it鈥檚 another symptom of the disease of poverty. What specifically would you do about that? Do you ever get any specific answers about anything?

Democracy itself must be reformed. It's insane that people (and children who don't even vote) be punished by the lies and corruption of bad politicians. Anf they keep winning elections. This is a 2,000 years old problem and must be fixed. My proposal: #ReformasDeJusticiaYa

Had my first job at 14, was working full time by 16. Put myself through college & grad school and held a full time job too (lots of early morning & night classes). Instilled a great work ethic. No regrets.

We know exactly the effect this will have.
