Yes, the whole idea of something called "economic values" existing as an ethical counterpart to "humanitarian values" seems to involve some sort of conceptual confusion about the term "economic" and seems redolent of bad economics in the conservative style.

We derive our livelihoods via the economy. Humanitarianism is about *how* we then go on to live. One cannot replace the other.
