When the Founders wrote the Second Amendment, the largest guns they had were muskets. The modern bullet had not yet been invented. They could only shoot one bullet at a time. Today’s assault weapon would be like the power of a cannon to them. The Second Amendment is NOT a legitimate reason not to ban assault weapons. Ban them now.

Honey, you're so ignorant, it's embarrassing. Read the Heller decision. That dispatched the 'only muskets' nonsense pretty thoroughly. Also, new gun bans are unconstitutional, per Bruen. They've been falling all across the land. Third, you don't have the votes, and you don't have the will to confiscate them. You're just another bad noise for normal people to ignore.

The Framers never expressed a comparative lethality of any type when stating the right to bear arms shall not be infringed. In 1776 only crude printing presses made 1A possible; no phone, radio, TV, or www. Yet 1A is uncontested. Press lies kill far more than guns, BTW.

Do you know what the musket was? It was the most technology advanced firearm of its day, with a terrifying rate of fire for the period. They also had rifles, bayonets, swords, tomahawks, knives. You ok with those? BTW, modern firearms still only shoot one bullet at a time.
