When the Founders wrote the Second Amendment, the largest guns they had were muskets. The modern bullet had not yet been invented. They could only shoot one bullet at a time. Today’s assault weapon would be like the power of a cannon to them. The Second Amendment is NOT a legitimate reason not to ban assault weapons. Ban them now.

We need nukes and f35s now to have a chance today. Ask what the Resident of the united states said about that. Ready to accept f.o.b.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. Not specific to any weapon. But, hey, read it the way you want to. 🙄

The Colonial Rifled Musket fired a .75 cal "bullet" of around 700gr in weight. The AR 15 fires a .223 dia "bullet" of around 60-75gr in weight. You really don't want to talk about which fires the larger round. Repeating arms were invented prior to the revolution, as far back as the late 16th Century.

"Arms". Not "Muskets". They knew exactly what they were saying.
