When the Founders wrote the Second Amendment, the largest guns they had were muskets. The modern bullet had not yet been invented. They could only shoot one bullet at a time. Today’s assault weapon would be like the power of a cannon to them. The Second Amendment is NOT a legitimate reason not to ban assault weapons. Ban them now.

You've been taken completely to the woodshed numerous times since you posted this. If you had even a modicum of honesty, decency, or self respect you would have deleted this ridiculous post.

I love the entertainment value of how dumb that argument is, but it does scare me that democrat people up for high office can not form logical thoughts. Is there any hope for people who can only speak in debunked slogans?

Soooooo Einstein…. When they wrote the first amendment they must have been referring to printing presses and speech in public squares….not printers, the internet and Twitter.

At the time, the rifled musket WAS "cutting edge" technology. The AR15 is not and was not ever "cutting edge". People who don't know what they are talking about need to shut their pie hole and let the adults in the room talk. You might learn something!

When the founders wrote the 1st amendment the fastest for of communication was writing letters. Modern telecommunications had not yet been invented. Todays communication network would be like sorcery. It’s time to ban phones and the internet.

Lol. So, in your mind, our founding fathers, two of whom were actual inventors, didn't know that technology would continue to advance? Did you know that the musket was advanced a few times during the revolution? I find your argument extremely entertaining and ignorant 🤣.

Pretty much every Goddamned part of this tweet is wrong. Otherwise, well done!

Also, 2A-ers should try to answer this question: in the context of the constitution, what is a “militia”? Is the term defined in a previous section, maybe?

Your understanding and education on the subject of firearms and the 2nd Amendment are both horribly lacking. At that time in our history repeating firearms had already been invented and individuals owned armed warships and their own cannons and explosives.

You need to read a history book and understand how history repeats itself.
