Transgender people are not a danger to our democracy. Books in libraries and free speech are not a danger to our democracy. Scholars and teachers are not a danger to our democracy. The fascists who try to control them; they are the ones who are a danger to our democracy.

In a democracy, 51% of the people can take away rights and property from the other 49%. It's a nice way of saying mob rule. We are a republic - more specifically, a constitutional republic - which protects the rights and property of individuals.
