Transgender people are not a danger to our democracy. Books in libraries and free speech are not a danger to our democracy. Scholars and teachers are not a danger to our democracy. The fascists who try to control them; they are the ones who are a danger to our democracy.

No they aren't a threat. The threat is forcing people to accept that someone can become a girl from a boy and then same evening switch to being a boy, then next day a girl and so on the stupidity goes. They can't force this absurdness in the name of gender fluidity.
