One-third of American workers live on less than $15 an hour. This is the economic reality a political elite seeks to obscure, so they can get away with not raising the minimum wage, not providing universal health care, and not guaranteeing a livable wage. The more we face the actual reality, the greater the chance that enough of us will rise up and do what it takes to change it.
Filipino caregivers in LA live in shocking poverty. Exploited by agencies who take 40% of their pay, they make less than minimum wage. By ⁦@LATstevelopezlatimes.com/california/story…

All these things would be possible provided that a President was willing to slash the defense budget by 50%, stop engaging in foreign wars and supporting covert actions around the globe. But, so far, no candidate, including you, seems willing to do any of that.

Unfortunately, you, Marianne Williamson are a major part of the problem as you won’t even acknowledge or discuss visa labor racketeering schemes like H-1B which are hollowing out American middle class and driving down wages of all American workers. You are on ‘team elite’ just like Joe Biden and Donald Trump, just your rhetoric is this ‘soft and squishy stuff.’ Seriously. I.

On my first job I was making $4.00 an hour and got by just fine. That's because the cost of living wasn't a runaway train wreck. The problem ISN'T with workers at bottom it's workers at the top that's causing inflation.

Increase the standard deduction to $60,000 for individuals or $120,000 for households. Lower the payroll tax to 1% for all incomes. Anyone making less than the prior year's national average would pay zero income tax and a maximum of $600 in FICA --- taxes don't fund spending ---

In 1973 minimum wage was $2 an hr. Worked a couple of those jobs then worked at a factory w/ a starting wage of $4.25. I ‘thought’ that was a lot. Reality set in. I went back to college. The min wage needs to be at least $25 an hour. Look who’s NOT talking about it?

Someone who lives on less than $15 per hour can see how greedy and selfish 2/3 of Americans tend to be.

The best way to fight this and remain competitive with Asia. Is to reform out system. Remove income tax. Universal Healthcare. Affordable housing. All can be done and it would lower cost of living and salaries don't have to increase. #6'Elon
