One-third of American workers live on less than $15 an hour. This is the economic reality a political elite seeks to obscure, so they can get away with not raising the minimum wage, not providing universal health care, and not guaranteeing a livable wage. The more we face the actual reality, the greater the chance that enough of us will rise up and do what it takes to change it.
Filipino caregivers in LA live in shocking poverty. Exploited by agencies who take 40% of their pay, they make less than minimum wage. By ⁦@LATstevelopezlatimes.com/california/story…

I agree. How can a hospital (nonprofit) make a $2B profit ? Answer: because in PA hospitals have their own insurance as well. (Wait 9 mo for an appointment only to be told we don’t accept your insurance). I can’t afford the insurance and food. No one can if your job is eliminated

What do you think some of the unintended consequences of raising minimum wage might be?

Why not deal with the root cause problem? The federal reserve, created by an act signed into law by progressive democrat Woodrow Wilson in 1913. Nope. Can't look at that. Just elect more progressive democrats and compliant progressive republicans.

Give them more money. Then prices go up. Then the money ends up being with the same. Get it? Ffs.

The problem is not the wages, the problem is government over spending which lead to out of control inflation and being over taxed. Get government out of the way and spending under control. At this rate of inflation, $50/hr won't be enough to live on.
