When the Covid emergency officially ends this week, 15 million people will be thrown off Medicaid and 30 million will lose SNAP benefits. I'm willing to bet that most of the people making excuses for all those "qualified" people who decided to end the emergency 1) have decent healthcare, 2) are not hungry, and 3) have never had a hunger child. nytimes.com/2023/02/28/us/po…

Feds say it ends 5/11/23 are you ending it yourself?

Agreed. But please add #UBI to your platform. It isn't enough to means-test treatments for certain symptoms of poverty, nor even enough to use jobs as a refuge from poverty. Our economic floor needs to be set above poverty; poverty itself needs to be abolished. We need a UBI.

They threw away the child tax credit, so why not?

They will NOT be thrown off Medicaid nor will they lose SNAP. Some benefits may be reduced but that is not what you're saying.

Giving them something to be quiet about. Like it's just lifting restrictions? Nothing to see here. It may sour a few grifters, but food programs help shareholders too.

It is heart breaking.

Well, yes. Apparently the economy is booming and all those unfortunates who lost their jobs should be back at work by now.
