Today I was told by the political director of our largest nurse's union that 5,000 medical personnel died unnecessarily in America during the Covid pandemic for no reason other than that hospitals refused to provide preventative protocols. The hospital-industrial-complex is very real.

"I remembered when news came out in 2020 that NY nurses were made to ration one N95 mask each for 5 days straight... this among many others were deplorable actions by the hospitals' profiteering board of directors while nurses & residents got sick & died"

It's all about money, especially administrators, doctors, owners and management's money.

1) classify healthcare as a utility so that all profit can be regulated - medical, dental, vision 2) abolish insurance companies & nationalize with multiple tiers including a complementary one for low income. If you want premium, you can pay up charge 3) bust pharma

I call it the “Medical Industrial Complex,” as it’s not just hospitals. As with the Educational Industrial Complex, there is an inherent conflict of interest between delivering good care and making a profit. Both these use fear as marketing tactics and society has been complicit.

I’m a nurse. I worked directly with covid patients during the worst of it. I recently had severe abdominal pain. I went to my PCP who ordered tests….to DIAGNOSE the problem (not fix it)…i had those tests done at the hospital i WORK at (per my insurance): $1,450. #InsuranceScam

Yes, and what are you going to do about capitalism, Marianne?!

The union is corrupt. Thousands of #nurses and HCWs were fired for refusing to be biopharma lab rats!

True. I’ve historically been a patient enough and co-cared for patients to know it is very true. I’ve testified before the FDA & “medical-industrial-complex” ie profits over people (patients/staff) was 4ever seared into my brain. I didn’t want it to but I couldn’t unsee, unknow.
