This country is actually sliding backwards, diminishing rather than expanding the rights of Americans. It’s unbelievable that in 2023 we’re actually having to defend child labor laws against encroachment by corporate tyrants. But we are. And we must.

@Marwilliamson is right, but something’s amiss. The fact it needed to be said that “the country is sliding backwards” is an expression of the failure of Economic science. Social backsliding shouldn’t surprise anyone—we should all expect this repeating pattern.
