This country is actually sliding backwards, diminishing rather than expanding the rights of Americans. It’s unbelievable that in 2023 we’re actually having to defend child labor laws against encroachment by corporate tyrants. But we are. And we must.
Workplace law changes would make for lost, dangerous Iowa childhoods, Council Bluffs labor leaders, parents, say "The bill is about billion-dollar corporations pressuring our Legislature to allow them to exploit our children," says @Jen4IALabor theiowamercury.substack.com/…

Going "back to the 50s" on racism & sexism, but what about labor? We had strong bipartisan labor law, big strong unions, collective bargaining, the right to strike. Racist sexist unions, like society, but unionized Black and women workers made 50% more. Can we have both in 2023?

If you believe you cant prevent your child from becoming a 7yr old factory worker why on earth do your kids need you, you already believe you are an ineffective parent. If you want your 15yr old to run the register for 2 hrs a day at the family business this probably helps.

COULD the government actually thrive while creating living wages, free healthcare and many other benefits? Could we actually afford for a utopian like society? Genuine question!

Strategy is to reduce rights so that if people make demands, you can give a little back and maybe appease them. Like a store marking up its inventory before a sale.

The problem is there’s no accountability
