This country is actually sliding backwards, diminishing rather than expanding the rights of Americans. It’s unbelievable that in 2023 we’re actually having to defend child labor laws against encroachment by corporate tyrants. But we are. And we must.

I would advocate jobs in the summer like the Youth Conservation Corps that I did growing up. We learned the importance of accountability and teamwork while also the science and societal impacts of our relationship with nature. And we made a difference.

I started working at 12 or 13 and I am grateful for it. Kids shouldn't be working dangerous jobs or excessive hours but they should have the freedom to work. #freedom
