Fair that the biggest hurdle is beginning, but also there is the fact that the entire infrastructure of government is corrupt as political office is a career instead of a service position like waste management. Trustworthy people are eaten or absorbed by the corruption right now.

Slavery was that and more, but a generation rose up to handle it. The institutionalized suppression of women was that and more, but a generation rose up to handle it. Segregation was that and more, but a generation rose up to handle it. It’s our turn now.

My intent was not to discourage facing the challenge but to address that while "a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step", the goal is far away and those who have failed to account for the hazards have been buried by the machine. I am hopeful for you @marwilliamson

Well connected, well intentioned people have tried and been destroyed or absorbed by the system. You have my support and I'll hold you to the mark as I do to the current POTUS. But I have faith in you to succeed against the anti-science, silver spoon, dark money funded system.
