The newest target of the extremist authoritarian movement in this country is CHILD LABOR LAWS! First Arkansas, now Iowa. Things are moving in the wrong direction. We need to turn this around. #ANewBeginning
An Iowa child labor bill proposes kids as young as 14 could work in slaughterhouses, mining, meatpacking, demolition, etc., under supervised "work-based learning" programs — and it removes civil liabilities from those companies if kids are injured or die. desmoinesregister.com/story/…

Open the trade schools to them as work study and I see no problems with this. We NEED tradespeople. Four hours a day, four days a week. Simple.

It's beyond sickening and has to be stopped. Do you have in your presidential platform that a Williamson administration would strengthen federal child labor laws to prevent laws like this in AR and IA?

FYI more info. One of the groups lobbying for this child labor law is the Koch brothers Americans For Prosperity. There are groups against it and groups still undecided. There's a news conf + rally about SF542 + HF647 on Sat 3/25 at noon.
Did some digging on this Iowa child labor bill. It's been renumbered SF542 and HF647. THIS 🤬 -> One of the lobbyist groups pushing for this heinous child labor bill is Americans For Prosperity - the Koch brothers' primary political advocacy group. legis.iowa.gov/lobbyist/repo…

I painted houses when I was 7 saved money and learned carpentry, demo, etc by 14. Used those skills to help pay for college... no one forced me.
