Pushing back a neo-fascist authoritarian threat is absolutely the primary challenge of our time. But we won’t be able to do that unless we’re willing to analyze how we became so vulnerable to it to begin with. Yes, there is a malignant narcissist who had a lot to do with it. Plus, social media as well. But there was something more, something even more insidious that weakened our democracy and left us open to the threat. FDR said we wouldn’t have to worry about a fascist takeover “as long as democracy delivered on its blessings.” And that is where we’ve failed. The fact that people do not have healthcare, do not have a livable wage, cannot go to college or send their kids to college, do not get help with child care, feel so little economic wind at their back…those speak to the the “blessings of democracy” that our system has failed to deliver. And that is what has weakened our societal immune system. Providing such things now, like a massive infusion of hope and opportunity, is the boost to our immune system without which we will have a very hard time keeping the disease at bay. Too late for vitamins. We need a quick IV.

There's a right-wing conspiracy, too. It whipped the horse into a frenzy; then Trump seized the reins and proved to be a better rider.

A bird never wavers it drifts to the dreams of reality FDR was a prime example, if enduring the economic collapses in the mid shift 1940’s that displaced us with any imminent regrets of wars. I believe structurally we should, have Medicare for all, & the assistance poverty act

FDR was a fascist 🤣 You don't defeat fascism with fascism. You don't defeat communism with socialism. You beat them all with freedom and self reliance. The New Deal is sinking us. The Great Society is bankrupting us. What is the obsession with adding more of the same crap?

It’s so simple. Our elected representatives no longer work together for the good of the people they serve. They only work together to take from their constituency and make money for themselves and their donors. The democrats think the working class still believes them. We don’t.

If we could get rid of democrats and republicans and clear out local governments and DC.. we may have a chance. Most of these people are sociopaths and or narcissistic. That is how they ended up there.
