Pushing back a neo-fascist authoritarian threat is absolutely the primary challenge of our time. But we won’t be able to do that unless we’re willing to analyze how we became so vulnerable to it to begin with. Yes, there is a malignant narcissist who had a lot to do with it. Plus, social media as well. But there was something more, something even more insidious that weakened our democracy and left us open to the threat. FDR said we wouldn’t have to worry about a fascist takeover “as long as democracy delivered on its blessings.” And that is where we’ve failed. The fact that people do not have healthcare, do not have a livable wage, cannot go to college or send their kids to college, do not get help with child care, feel so little economic wind at their back…those speak to the the “blessings of democracy” that our system has failed to deliver. And that is what has weakened our societal immune system. Providing such things now, like a massive infusion of hope and opportunity, is the boost to our immune system without which we will have a very hard time keeping the disease at bay. Too late for vitamins. We need a quick IV.

Your notion of fascism is sadly antiquated. The fascism of the 21st century is technocratic in nature and accelerated greatly during the orchestrated covid crisis. If you fail to see or address this, you will be running an analog campaign in a digital era.

Where are these "blessings of democracy" you talk about listed? Are your "blessings" different than those of others if there isn't an agreed-upon list?

Democracy always does. We should try it sometime.

… plus, end-stage capitalism.

Pushing back a fascist authoritarian threat is absolutely the primary challenge of our time. This sounds like the Democrat Party led by the Biden administration. Need to really push back to save our democracy from them!

Remember: it's Sleepy Joe who brags about writing the Patriot Act.

This isn’t the failure of democracy. We suffer from the hostile takeover by Capitalists, who naturally loathe freedom, democracy, and choice.

A neo-fascist authoritarian threat who — unlike his five immediate predecessors — didn’t ramp up warmaking? The malignant narcissist who sparked the first period of economic growth to disproportionately favor low income Americans in over half a century?

That is all fine & well, but how are we going to pay for it all as long as you insist on your war-mongering ways by continuing to supply aid to Ukraine. How are you going to pay for it all if your insist on providing reparations for blacks?
