I cannot even imagine what it would be like to be in your Twenties and carry tens of thousands of dollars of college loan debt. And we wonder where the mental health crisis comes from? Economic anxiety is a pit of despair. Every American should realize that college and public universities were tuition free up until the mid-1960s. Unfettered capitalism is ravenous in its search for a profit center, even if it emerges from or causes human suffering. How dare we tell young people they should have respect for capitalism when they. have. no. capital! None of this will change until we change it. #ANewBeginning

Very simple, don't take out a loan you cannot afford to pay back. This needs to be taught in high school before these simpletons apply for a loan.

Don't forget Seniors. Not all Boomers have huge pensions and live on Wall Street. Most have no pension, Pay high healthcare costs, have had 0 interest rates for decades, and took loans and mortgages to PAY for their kids living expenses and college loans. At 72, I need a bailout!

I'm one example of what Ms. W. is talking about. In my case, I took out a loan at age 59 to update my IT skills after being laid off. Almost a year after graduating, no job. I have a degree from Rice U, & I'm a rideshare driver.

Lots of people have financial anxiety. Why should those with student debt get off the hook for the money they borrowed while others who have borrowed get no help?
