I cannot even imagine what it would be like to be in your Twenties and carry tens of thousands of dollars of college loan debt. And we wonder where the mental health crisis comes from? Economic anxiety is a pit of despair. Every American should realize that college and public universities were tuition free up until the mid-1960s. Unfettered capitalism is ravenous in its search for a profit center, even if it emerges from or causes human suffering. How dare we tell young people they should have respect for capitalism when they. have. no. capital! None of this will change until we change it. #ANewBeginning

The mental health crisis is because of student loans? You are not serious.

Economic anxiety is absolutely at the heart of much of the mental health crisis. And I am VERY serious.

No. What you are doing is pandering to a slew of people who took degrees in areas that have no useful value in the marketplace. Even a Humanities degree can translate to employment. You are like a New Age feel good pandering liar.
We know you're serious. That's what's so tragic.

What do you believe will make future generations better, more confident and more industrious than previous generations, self-sufficiency or bailouts? Blame whoever you wish for how we got here, but if we bailout this generation, what should the next generation expect?

Just for the record, it didn't go unnoticed that you changed the subject. You are a politician.

So the mental health issues that exist in sub 18 year olds, the most heavily impacted population, what’s the theory there?

And it's not just young people - the generation born in the early 80s has been living through it seems one crisis then the next. From 9/11 to recessions to out of control housing prices.

Number one cause of bankruptcy is because of healthcare costs too, so many people have anxiety from just a hospitalization and a family having $4-6k deductibles.
I hope they feel bad, they need to pay their fucking debts.
Go deeper. Economic anxiety is at the root of American capitalism. American capitalism is based on a threat, unspoken. The "threat" is the slow, brutal violence of starvation.
