I cannot even imagine what it would be like to be in your Twenties and carry tens of thousands of dollars of college loan debt. And we wonder where the mental health crisis comes from? Economic anxiety is a pit of despair. Every American should realize that college and public universities were tuition free up until the mid-1960s. Unfettered capitalism is ravenous in its search for a profit center, even if it emerges from or causes human suffering. How dare we tell young people they should have respect for capitalism when they. have. no. capital! None of this will change until we change it. #ANewBeginning

Imagine free public education for all adults. Imagine the professionals we'd have, imagine the innovation. Imagine the hope, the will, and the drive we'd give our citizens if only we cared about them and our collective future.

Which is fine but why continue to give student loans?

I am 41 years old and single mother of two teenage boys. I have had crippling student loan debt for a long time. My marriage made things so bad for me and my kids I have never been able to recover. With interest I now owe over $50,000 in student loans I will never be able to pay

Oh boo hoo! Everyone is now having a mental health crisis! People today are like sheep. Tell them they have something and they run with it. Get over it! Grow up! Pay your debts and shut up. Stop with this mental health garbage!

Not everyone got into the “free” colleges or everyone would have gone to college in the 60’s.

Not only that but being born into a human/capitalist driven 6th Mass Extinction of all life in Earth, insane costs of rent/housing and a climate apocalypse. I’m not convinced this isn’t actually hell.

We are leaving young people with vastly reduced economic prospects, a disrupted climate where frequent natural disasters are the new normal, a deeply dysfunctional healthcare system, and a broken political system dominated by two ossified parties incapable of meaningful change.
