I cannot even imagine what it would be like to be in your Twenties and carry tens of thousands of dollars of college loan debt. And we wonder where the mental health crisis comes from? Economic anxiety is a pit of despair. Every American should realize that college and public universities were tuition free up until the mid-1960s. Unfettered capitalism is ravenous in its search for a profit center, even if it emerges from or causes human suffering. How dare we tell young people they should have respect for capitalism when they. have. no. capital! None of this will change until we change it. #ANewBeginning

Why do Americans have 30% interest on Credit Cards and all kinds of hidden fees? Ask Joe Biden because he put all the Credit Card companies in Delaware to let them to it. Credit card debt is far, far worse than Student loans.

You are right. There are no opportunities in this world for a degree in “Underwater Basket Weaving.” I picked my education track based on economic opportunity, chemistry and engineering, graduated with a MS and no debt. Attended a univ. I could afford & worked hard.

Although the Supreme Court may reject Biden's proposal for Student Loan Forgiveness, implementing a permanent 0% interest rate and locking old debts at that rate could greatly assist individuals in paying off their loans.

My 27½ year old daughter graduates from med school in mid-May. $265,000 in non-government loans. Govt doesnt pay for grad school Oh, "but she's a doctor" you say. "Money rolling in" you say. Residents in psychiatry make less than $70,000 annually. Four years of that. And...

This is just a vote-buying scheme and you know it. Like then I promised all students chocolate cake every day at lunch during my middle school elections.

I had 200,000 of college debt in my 40’s. Some for my own education (I went later in life) and some for my children!! I knew what I signed up for and have paid 150,00 back. I budget and don’t live beyond my means. Hopefully will have the rest paid back in a few years!!

Canceling debt means teaching them Tharp can’t make it on their own. They need to be dependent on government to save them. Why is no one going after the schools for high tuitions and degrees that don’t help one compete@in the job market?
