I cannot even imagine what it would be like to be in your Twenties and carry tens of thousands of dollars of college loan debt. And we wonder where the mental health crisis comes from? Economic anxiety is a pit of despair. Every American should realize that college and public universities were tuition free up until the mid-1960s. Unfettered capitalism is ravenous in its search for a profit center, even if it emerges from or causes human suffering. How dare we tell young people they should have respect for capitalism when they. have. no. capital! None of this will change until we change it. #ANewBeginning

Go into debt $200,000 for a sociology degree or black studies, expect disappointment. The problem is not capitalism but Government involvement in school loan programs (under Obama) and universities giving students worthless degrees.

I agree. When I got out of college I had no debt, and a nice car, and some starting out money from my parents, including a down payment for a home. There is no way I would have been able to start a business, and have the success and joy I have today otherwise!

Either they are adults or they shouldn't be able to borrow money for anything. You're basically setting the bar to adulthood far out in this country that few will take personal responsibility, work & be productive even by 26, if ever. Stop with the pity.

We have a soft generation, period!! Call a spade a spade!! These kids don’t know how to do anything. Get off your phone and learn how to do simple tasks!

It should not be possible to get loans for college because it should not be necessary. You shouldn’t have to be savvy about finance and interest to get an education in this country. That’s not as important as learning about science or history or art or psychology.
