Marianne please address the content of your weightloss book. I know this sounds random but I will be your Strongest Soldier if you can just address the harmful content and implications of that book.

What about the hundreds of people who have thanked me for that book with tears in their eyes? What happened to the days when if a book isn't for you, it just isn't for you and you don't read it? I have to think about a book before I write it because if it doesn't fit someone else's idea of what is politically correct, then I shouldn't write it? What is this, the Chinese Cultural Revolution?? You want me to *atone* for my book because someone doesn't like it? If someone doesn't like my book, then it's not for them. I wrote the book in 2010 and perhaps some cultural trends have changed. I can see that. So be it. But no way am I going to address what you call the "harmful content and implications" of my book because the political correctness police don't think it lives up to their standards. I'm sorry. I hear your sincerity and I appreciate that. But I"m not going there. I can't. I won't.

You argue like a child. It validates my opinion of you. I know you won't win the nomination, but as much as I've excoriated Bernie bros for sitting out the elections b/c they didn't get the candidate they wanted, if you were the candidate I'd stay home or write in someone else.

Please tell me this isn’t your actual response 🫣@marwilliamson

This is so dramatic If your book has harmful practices, yes you should atone for those.

Welp, this was not the first impression I wanted to see. Oh well.

Some people want help losing weight, some are comfortable in their bodies as is. It’s disappointing that you seem unwilling to apologize for any harmful stereotypes your book may have perpetuated. I hope you’ll be open to listening to perspectives of plus sized people on this

Now this is more like it, imo. At least from where I'm standing, a lot of what I've heard you talk about makes sense to me personally.

Is it really that hard to acknowledge that you made a mistake, and then know better and do better? We all need to do a lot of that as it pertains to racism, classism, cisheterosexism, and ableism, and this would be a great opportunity for you to lead by example.
