At the expense of workers, consumers, animals, community, and planet.... Stock buybacks were illegal until 1982, when the Reagan Revolution turned market manipulation into an art form. It's a system of corporate tyranny that increases the fortunes of a few at the expense of the many. This will not end until we end it. #DisruptTheSystem marianne2024.com
Stunning figure. The White House’s National Economic Council reports that major corporations are spending roughly 90% of their earnings on stock buybacks and dividends. What’s left for investment? Not much, unless these corporations are taking on debt. -R

Be specific. How is she misinformed?
corpgov.law.harvard.edu/2020… So, the "misinformed" was largely semantics. Got it.
2/2 forbes.com/sites/petergeorge… And the SEC would also have used the word "illegal"

I disagree here. Stick buyback correspond to stronger markets and increase in profits. While there is concern that stock buyback accumulates wealth to the ultra wealthy, this can be mitigated with other laws and regulations

Most people are too poor to invest in stock so they don’t realize how stock buy backs deplete the investments that SHOULD be made to improve the corporations’ operations or products. Airline companies are perfect example. Pure greed on display.
