At the expense of workers, consumers, animals, community, and planet.... Stock buybacks were illegal until 1982, when the Reagan Revolution turned market manipulation into an art form. It's a system of corporate tyranny that increases the fortunes of a few at the expense of the many. This will not end until we end it. #DisruptTheSystem marianne2024.com
Stunning figure. The White House’s National Economic Council reports that major corporations are spending roughly 90% of their earnings on stock buybacks and dividends. What’s left for investment? Not much, unless these corporations are taking on debt. -R

Don't try to push the hashtag #DisruptTheSystem if you don't have UBI on your platform. As individuals, most people are powerless to disrupt the system because we're stuck in it. Most Americans live paycheck to paycheck & you know this. Only UBI empowers us to disrupt anything.

Hey Marianne- You do realize that millions of retirees live off their retirement portfolio dividends and benefit from the stock price appreciation from stock buybacks, right?

How many of your followers depend on 401k plans for retirement? The notion that stocks are only for the wealthy is unbelievably out dated.

Yes, please keep channeling Ralph Nader. The man personally responsible for electing GW Bush, 9/11, 20 years of Iraq/Afghanistan, John Roberts, Samuel Alito leading to the fall of Roe. That's how to win a Dem Primary 🙄

Conservatives are “nicer” because they love wackos. We see exactly what you are, it’s not that you are a terrible person it’s that you are unelectable

Share buybacks should be outlawed. If a corporation wants to reduce the float, it can do a reverse split. Any outgoings should be in the form of dividends. Also, Corporate Personhood should be ended & Lobbying and Donations need stricter monitoring and limitations.

Wait till you find out how rigged the US Equity markets are today! Your finance team should look into the SEC, FINRA, DTCC, FTDs, Dark Pools, PFOF, etc… Specifically the market making firm Citadel should be heavily scrutinized by your cabinet. Let me know if you have questions

🪙 Stock buybacks seem like the plot of "Goldfinger". Bad guy buys up lots of gold, then invades Ft Knox vaults -- not to steal the gold, but to nuke it, thus increasing the value of the gold he already has. Same way buybacks increase value simply by taking stock off the market.
