Trickle down economics has been a disaster for this country. It has completely destroyed America’s middle class. Democrats won’t win on the message that we can help people survive the disaster. We will win by saying we’re going to end it. Universal healthcare, tuition-free state colleges and universities, a guaranteed living wage, free childcare, paid maternity & paternity leave & guaranteed sick pay - like in every other advanced democracy! - will begin to right the ship.

There is no such thing as “trickle down economics”. It’s a made up phrase.

OK. Neoliberalism better for you? Unfettered, unregulated, crony capitalism better for you?

Just because the rich get richer, does that mean the poor get poorer? Can’t we all keep getting richer if they can print as much money as they want? Money is only worth what it can buy…

No righteous person wants to think their ability to create wealth is at the expense of other people getting a chance to. Yet that’s what has happened. You’re right that there is nothing wrong with making money! But there is something wrong with squeezing everything from those who do not have, in order for those who already have to have even more.

The top 1% pay 42.3% of all income taxes. How much more would you like them to pay? Do you think the most innovative people will stay in a place where they are not rewarded for their work? Why would they do that?

For those who don't know basic economics, such as Marianne, there is no such thing as trickle-down econ, except for those ignorant of the dismal science. Free markets get the most people out of poverty and should always be strived for. This means no govt interference.

Free everything, the Democrat tooth fairy is here. Wait until the money runs out and it will. Guess what happens then a great depression far worse than 1929. No social security, no Medicare, no Medicade, no Food Stamps, no Welfare, no Home Loans, Massive Home Repropossions, Bank Failures, Stock Market Crash, Pensions going broke. Great Time for the wealthy few and hell for everyone else.

I thought TD economics was a fake narrative? Are democrats resurrecting it out of desperation?

So you are saying you support more taxes for those working to pay for all this FREE stuff, right? You want the worker to pay for all the services you discussed as that is the only way it gets paid. Sure, tax corporations, but you know as well as everyone else it will not stop there. All you want is more without worrying about paying for it. A one-sided comment purposely staying to one side of the conversation. Yeah, we get it.
