What happened in East Palestine, Ohio is a feature - not a bug - of unfettered, unregulated corporate power. Obama tried to regulate more hazardous material on trains, then ended up caving to railroad industry pressure. Union workers warned about faulty brakes and other safety measures, and the same railroad executives who denied them sick pay ignored their voices. This isn’t about just one incident; it’s about the dictatorial and deadly power of corporations that put their short term profits before the safety, health, and well-being of people and planet. The corrupt system that protects them, We the People need to disrupt.

"Williamson, who championed issues on her viral 2020 presidential campaign that included establishing a “Department of Peace” and doling out $100 billion in reparations, dropped out last cycle before the Iowa caucuses. " #1984

True. US Capitalism took a deadly turn about 50 years ago when it moved to financialize and deindustrialize, deregulate and deinvest in the real economy. It's all about stock price now. A company can cut jobs, offshore, close plants, lose money, and still see stocks rise.

What do you say about EVERY ELECTED DEMOCRAT having just voted against the rights of the RR Workers to organize around their incredibly relevant concerns? Is this your party?

This is a huge environmental disaster that has to addressed now. Where are the environmentalists? A polluted Ohio River eventually affects everyone. The owners of this railway are some of the wealthiest companies who support @POTUS 🤔 why the silence.
