What happened in East Palestine, Ohio is a feature - not a bug - of unfettered, unregulated corporate power. Obama tried to regulate more hazardous material on trains, then ended up caving to railroad industry pressure. Union workers warned about faulty brakes and other safety measures, and the same railroad executives who denied them sick pay ignored their voices. This isn’t about just one incident; it’s about the dictatorial and deadly power of corporations that put their short term profits before the safety, health, and well-being of people and planet. The corrupt system that protects them, We the People need to disrupt.

It’s not capitalism broadly writ. It’s under regulation of powerful special interests and over regulation of small business. Creating a lop -sided economy which makes it hard for new innovators to compete and disrupt incumbents.

They are playing by the rules that government lets them play by. Every corporation will test the limits. The government needs to fight back. Where’s Teddy?

This DISASTER is what happens when "CORPORATE GREED" is given a higher priority than "HUMAN LIFE"

It seems to be a thing with Obama (caving). I recall when he caved to Republicans & allowed junk insurance companies into the so-called Healthcare Market place. He caved on the Public Option..... Biden won't even consider regulation Obama caved on.

Biden should fire Mayo Pete and hire someone who can actually improve transportation in America. The secretary of transportation has done nothing, and there are dozens of competent people who know more about public transportation than he does.
