An unjust economic status quo will not disrupt itself. It makes too much money for the donor class. Only We the People can create the change, with a peaceful political revolution at the ballot box.

If Lincoln had lost his re-election - which was “won peacefully at the ballot box” - McClellan would’ve made peace with the South and allowed them to keep slavery. I could go on. But the point -which you knew I meant - was never that the ballot box was the only needed measure.
