Pharmaceutical companies making billions of dollars’ profit on drugs whose development was subsidized by the US taxpayer - yet is not affordable to millions of people who need it - is not righteous profit. It is institutionalized theft.

And, a large part of the problem is that Medicare should pay no more for them than the Veterans Admin. The latter can negotiate and does get better prices.

Billions of dollars in profit = millions and millions in owed taxes. A fascinating trick is that news outlets and Dem politicians only talk about Pharma taxes in terms of percentages paid. Why? Because the actual $$ amount is so massive it wouldn't cause the desired outrage.
