If we’re going to change the world, it’s going to take more than doing different things. It’s going to take becoming different people. It’s not enough to say that we want more compassionate and merciful policies. We need to become more compassionate and merciful people.

Meh. I think people are on average much better than our civilization is. What we need is to stop having positions where some people can get a huge amount of power over others. Those positions attract bad people so bad people have an over stated impact on things.

So let's reverse the forces that cause extremism and polarization. And the best way to start that is through voting reform. Changing how we vote changes incentives of politicians to be aligned with people rather than power.
