I have an honest question for people on both sides of this issue. How do you think we can solve the tragic and devastating gun violence problem without stricter gun laws?

People are bringing in guns from other states!

CA has the most restrictive gun laws in the country yet this still happened. We need to realize all gun owners are “law abiding citizens” until they choose to perform that one illegal act that turns a LAC into a criminal. Every law abiding gun owner has criminal potential.

Legislation has to be federal. CA can pass tough gun laws but people bring guns from other states. Most NRA members want tougher gun laws btw. People are free to drive cars but there are still traffic laws. People are free to bear arms but there should still be gun safety laws

Im in New York City. Gun laws mean squat. There is always a way to get your hands on a gun. Criminals don’t let things like “laws” deter them.

This is false. The root of the gun violence is a growing belief in the notion that violence is a solution to problems, and life only has value insofar as it serves your own selfish needs. That is the social rot that needs to be remedied.

I don’t think this is realistic in a country with over 400 million guns in circulation. How many Waco’s are we prepared to endure to implement the measures? You have to think of another solution.

You think people planning to commit multiple murders will be change their mind when they realize they might have to violate a gun law?

They didn't work anywhere I grew up on the Southside of Chicago. Gun laws did literally nothing

Criminals by definition don’t follow laws. Many of the latest shootings the shooter was on the radar of law enforcement, and didn’t enforce current law. We also have culture that sensationalizes shooters where half the population will blame the gun&others for the shooters actions
