Maybe it's not the amount of time spent engaging in learning (and many other tasks) but what you make of the time you do put in. It sure seems like a lot of countries in that part of the world have their values and priorities in order more than we Americans.

While I agree with no homework, quit comparing the US ed system to Finland's. They're worlds apart in cultural differences.

I see now how much it cost my mom, to be the homework enforcer after school. We didnt see it as the educational system keeping us prisoner after the school day, it was mom saying we couldnt play. So unfair.

Especially when schools give kids such a workload that it becomes a parents task more than the child's.
