I did homework maybe twice in my life. Kids should not be doing homework on their time.

And it’s a homogenous society with only 5 million people. And they don’t put up with crap from students or the students get expelled.

The Finnish Prime Minister seems like one the dumbest most disingenuous of world leaders

It's not because they don't have homework. Most of the research out there shows a positive correlation between student achievement and homework. It's probably because they have such a strong, well-funded public education system that really invests in its teachers.

Absolutely agree with this- take steps back, let children breathe & live their childhood. It doesn't last forever, and was ruined for so many by totalitarian ideas & child abuse And for everyone that has the resources & a safe environment, try #Unschooling. Research it

Clearly ... If ... NO HOMEWORK ... is working in Finland ... then it can work in Ireland ... and even THE UNITED STATES.

No standardized testing either, so the teacher (who all have at least masters degrees) gets to decide what is important for each student to learn.

Don’t take the term “homework” too literally. Students don’t have to finish “homework” at home. It should be called assignment or simply self learning project.
