People should never have had to take out those loans to begin with. $1.8 trillion is about what we spend on defense in 2 yrs. Changing from war to peace economy means investing more in things that promote peace - i.e. healthcare and education - than on things that promote war.
Allow me to state the obvious: having 46 million people drowning in $1.8 trillion of student debt is not sustainable for working families, or for our country.

We can do both. I don’t believe in cutting the military budget

Are you equating the size of our military budget with the level of our national security?

You're the only public figure I've heard use the term "peace economy" in a couple of decades. War is just too big biz for the U$.

They never had to go to college in first place. Defense is in constitution not loans.

President Jackass gave $1.8 trillion to Wallstreet in May of 2020 to "bail them out" during the pandemic. Not a single govt. dime went to essential workers though.

But nobody HAD to take a loan to begin with.

Did I miss the part where these people took out these loans with a gun to their heads?

We the people didn't get the money! Why should we the people pay it back ?
