I’ve suggested multiple times to our governor in California that perhaps offering tax breaks to owners of empty (dormant) office buildings that could dedicate different floors to areas for sleep/eating/education/job training but I never hear back. Utilize empty buildings. 💡💡💡

Possible solution based like your book imagine. Care not cash is one way of rehabilitation of homelessness. #1 There have been many successes of homeless getting back into the workforce. #2. Give them jobs on the street then provide housing & food at night. Optimist here.

One the great riddles of homelessness is that in rich cities with expansive welfare programs for the homeless, there is a lot of homelessness, while in poor states and poor cities without benefits, there is very little homelessness. Maybe you should ponder this.
