And people are to go where, exactly?
Starting today it will be a crime to sleep on state-owned land in Missouri. That includes streets, parks and underneath bridges and overpasses. You will be fined $750 and face 15 days in jail.

Reminds me of the State of Tennessee passing a law makes it felony for anyone getting caught “dispersed camping.” Many homeless people use tents as shelters.

To jails, which receive more funding from the taxpayers when occupancy increases. We could more cheaply build housing, but what can I say; that’s the prison industrial complex for you.

Not on Missouri state land (except those who wish to be arrested), so that leaves lots of options. Raises the cost of being homeless, and this means for some of them, hustling back into a homed situation (with volunteer help usually) will occur—even if most will leave the state.

This is about enriching the private prison system. They will be charging the government $$$ per night for every homeless person who stays in jail for 15 days.

To jail. There criminalizing homelessness. Mass incarceration is on of the biggest industry's, and they love growing it. Even though housing someone is cheaper than spending $150,000 puting someone behind bars for a year.
